Jean Cocteau, The Spirit of 20th century Parisian Scene. Artists books from the Collection Ioannis Kontaxopoulos et Alexandre Prokopchuk.

The exhibition presented a series of artist’s books created by Jean Cocteau. The works are mostly prints on white paper that reveal their detail only when viewed up close. A traditional presentation – where each print would have been individually framed in the same frame – would have resulted in a visually monotonous experience for the visitor. Instead the prints were combined in large frames and vitrine-tables and presented in rooms with different colors. Large doors and windows provided views into other parts of the exhibition, guiding the visitor through a lively experience of the artworks.
